STICKY: Nanowrimo.

Starting 1st November and ending 30th November, I'm participating in Nanowrimo. I'm writing AU fanfiction for the JE fandom: specifically, Yamapi/Jin fic. I'm going to be doing five 10,000 word ficlets, each a different 'what if' AU scenario.

My loose plan is as follows:

(1) Pirates: Yamapi and Jin search for the elusive Eternal Banquet.
(2) Yakuza: Yamapi and Jin hide out from evil gangsters, hellbent on revenge on Johnny Kitagawa.
(3) Pokemon trainers: As yet undecided.
(4) Lawyers: Yamapi and Jin go head-to-head in court over The Matchstick Killer.
(5) Samurai: Jin is a pampered court Prince. Yamapi is a rugged Samurai-in-training. Their paths cross!

Necessary disclaimers:

(1) None of this is meant to be taken terribly seriously. I don't even think it's really allowed to do fanfic for Nanowrimo, so this isn't serious business. It's intended purely for fun, and for writing practice.
(2) In the spirit of Nanowrimo, I won't be editing this before uploading it. It's likely to be filled with holes, inaccuracies, all of that jazz. In a sense, I'm looking forward to seeing what I can come up with on the spur of the moment, so I'm not worried about this. But if there are glaring inaccuracies, that's why.
(3) I'm not intending to do a huge amount of research for this. Enough to make it feel real, not enough so that I can tell you the exact size of a 17th century cannon. If there's something that really sticks out to you, please tell me, I'm intrigued! But this isn't meant to be a historical document, so I'm not too concerned about being a stickler for exact detail.
(4) Obviously, whilst I complete Nanowrimo (50,000 words in 30 days) there won't be any other fic going up here. Bear with me. I'll be back in action around December.

Actually, you are allowed to do fanfic for NaNoWriMo, I think. It doesn't specify-- it just says that as long as it's a work of 'fiction', it's fine. Fanfiction, obviously, is fiction. I know loads of people from other fandoms who do fanfic for NaNoWriMo as well. :D

Good luck with it! I'm really looking forward to seeing your fic. (PIRATES. PIRATES. I have an infinite love for pirates. And Pin, of course. :D) I'm doing NaNo too, only not fanfic, but some original fantasy adventure thing. Yeah. Would you like to be writing buddies on NaNo?
